First place goes to this pure Grenache from century-old hand-harvested vines, with an intense nose of red fruit, undergrowth and vanilla. but the jury was particularly impressed by the mouth: a complex, velvety, powerful and gourmet palate, with intense flavors of spicy red fruits, stretched out in a long chocolate finish and supported by velvety tannins of remarkable harmony. A capital Lirac.”

“The 2016 vintage had already strongly impressed, and the 2017 is in the same vein. In a hot, dry vintage, there was no need to seek extraction. Romain Dubois, in charge of vinification, has understood this and has produced an exceptional cuvée: on the nose, devilishly greedy aromas of caramel, blackberries, liquorice and sweet spices; on the palate, it’s suave, tender, velvety and fresh at the same time, supported by tannins that are very present but with a great finesse of grain. Irresistible.”
