GUIDE HACHETTE 2013
Lirac Rouge, Cuvée MARIE 2010, 2** COUP DE COEUR
” Produced from a parcel of century-old vines in Saint-Laurent-des-Arbres, this Cuvée Marie features Grenache and has spent twelve months in barrel. Its color is dark and dense, tending towards black. The powerful, warm nose evokes prune à l’eau-de-vie, ripe burlat cherry, undergrowth and roasted coffee. Carried by silky, mellow tannins, the mouth seduces with its softness, suppleness, roundness and long, spicy, licorice finish. Armed for four or five years of ageing, this bottle will work wonders with foie gras quail.“
– Lirac Rouge2010, 1*
” … warm, kirschy Lirac, refreshed by a touch of menthol. Its fine tannic presence suggests good ageing potential.. “
– Côtes du Rhône Villages Red 2010, 1*.
” This consistently high-quality estate is offering a 2010 from the Grenache-Syrah-Mourvèdre trilogy. Bordeaux in color with cherry highlights, this wine delivers a bouquet of ripe red fruit and licorice, enhanced by hints of leather, elegantly structured by silky tannins, enveloped in blackcurrant, licorice and vanilla. It will be at its best in two or three years with a roast duck with sweet spices.. “
