WINE ADVOCATE 2020
Lirac Rouge Cuvée Marie 2017, 92 Points
“The 2017 Lirac Cuvee Marie derives mainly (90%) from 100 years-old Grenache vines, with a smattering of other permitted varieties. Aged nine months in Demi-muids, il delivers scent of brandied cherries, cinnamom and cardamom. Full-bodied, lush and velvety (without any heat, despite being labeled at 15% alcohol, this is lovely stuff, approachable young and capable of leasting at least 4-5 years.”
Lirac Rouge Cuvée Vieilles Vignes, 85 Points
“A 60-40 blend of Grenache and Syrah aged in demi-muids, the 2017 Lirac Vieilles Vignes offer up hints of clove, leather and vanilla. It’s medium to full-bodied with firm, drying tannins on the finish, so give it a couple of years in the cellar and hope its come around.”
